Calverton Park Police to dissolve into Florissant
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – It has been confirmed that the Calverton Park Police Department will be dissolving. According to the mayor of Calverton Park, the city does not have enough revenue to support its police department. Officers will be contracted to the City of Florissant. The switchover will occur next week, on Aug. 1.

ST. LOUIS — A south St. Louis woman was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to stabbing her neighbor to death in July 2022. Michelle B. Mitchell, 48, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. She fatally stabbed Robin Bonds, 56, in the Chapel View Apartments, located on the 4200 block of Michigan Avenue in the city's Mount Pleasant neighborhood.

Man charged in fatal DUI crash in Madison County, Illinois
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (First Alert 4) - Prosecutors in Madison County, Illinois, have charged a Bethalto man in a fatal DUI crash in May in Hartford. Israel K. Evans, 24, was charged Friday with aggravated DUI resulting in death and reckless homicide in the death of 24-year-old Jacob S.P. Werner, also of Bethalto, Illinois. Prosecutors are asking he be confined pending trial, according to a Madison County State’s Attorney news release.
