TROY (WWJ) — A West Bloomfield woman is facing drunk driving charges after being found asleep at the wheel of her car with flat tires in a 7-Eleven parking lot.

Shortly before 2 a.m. on 2 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, Troy police officers were called to the convenience store at the corner of Crooks and Wattles Roads after getting reports a woman was slumped over the center console of an SUV.

When officers knocked on the window of the tan 2019 Lincoln Nautilus, they were able to wake the 47-year-old woman. When they spoke to her, officers noticed the SUV smelled of alcohol.

After failing a series of field sobriety tests, the woman blew a .185% BAC, more than twice the legal limit. She was then arrested and taken to the Troy Police Lock-Up.

While her SUV was being impounded, officers noted the woman’s front and rear passenger tires were flat. It was not immediately clear when, where or how she got flat tires.

While at the lock-up, the woman submitted to a chemical breath test, again blowing more than twice the legal limit.

The case was turned over to the Troy Police Department’s Detective Bureau for appropriate charges. Officials did not release the woman’s name.
