BENTON COUNTY, Iowa — A Cedar Rapids man was taken into custody after a lengthy standoff with officers over the weekend. Marc Leconte, 56, was arrested Saturday evening after displaying a handgun in front of Benton County deputies during a traffic stop. Authorities were called to Highway 30 near Atkins for the report of an erratic driver. They arrived there at around 8:30 p.m. and found Leconte driving a gray Kia Telluride. That's when officers tried to pull over Leconte.

A pair of Iowa City roommates was arrested after a reported dispute with convenience store staff over a lack of fried chicken. Iowa City Police say 23-year-old Cardaeja Jones and 47-year-old Martina Smith…who live together on Cross Park Avenue…were at Kwik Star on Keokuk Street just before 11:45 Thursday night when they became upset that there were no more eight-piece chicken boxes on the hot food rack. FAYETTE COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - At approximately 3:56 p.m., the Iowa State Patrol responded to the intersection of 240 St. and X Ave in rural Waucoma for a report of a crash. Officials say a 2000 Chevy S10 truck was driving southbound on X Ave when it approached an uncontrolled gravel intersection and collided with a 2007 Ford Edge that was traveling westbound on 240 St.
