16-year-old in stable condition after falling off roof of speeding vehicle in Elmira
Elmira police said a 16-year-old boy was hospitalized Monday after falling off the roof of a motor vehicle as it sped along Walnut Street overnight. Police said they responded to the 300 block of Walnut at about 1:24 a.m. after receiving reports of a motor vehicle crash and a "pedestrian with injuries."
Chemung County Jail inmate charged after allegedly pouring hot soup on another inmate
The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 36-year-old Elmira man following an incident at the Chemung County Jail. According to police, Brendan P. Crowley, who was incarcerated at the jail, was charged with assault in the second degree, a Class D felony, after he allegedly poured hot soup over another inmate.
