SAN ANTONIO (TCN) -- Authorities recently arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the death of a missing 63-year-old woman whose remains were found along a hiking trail.

In a press conference, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said that on the night of Sept. 22, a man reported his wife, Stacey Dramiga, missing after she failed to return home. A regular hiker who often walked alone, she was reportedly last seen heading to the trails near Dafoste Park.

Family friends went to search for Dramiga and allegedly found her car still locked near Covington Park and alerted authorities. Salazar said officials tracked Dramiga’s phone, and a search team located a body in the woods.

According to the sheriff, investigators believe the remains to be Dramiga’s, but the victim has not yet been positively identified. Salazar said the victim likely didn’t fall and was forced off the trail. The case is being treated as a homicide.

An autopsy reported reviewed by KSAT-TV said the victim died of "blunt force, penetrating trauma of the head."

Deputies confirmed with KSAT that they arrested Marco Flores on charges of evading arrest and detention. Flores reportedly knew details about the case, but when the sheriff’s office said they were going to take him in for questioning, he allegedly fled.

According to KSAT, Flores was booked into the Bexar County Jail. Authorities did not release further information on Flores and his connection with Dramiga and her death.

Dramiga reportedly worked for a military installation as the director of the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation center.
