TRYON—Teacher, photographer and naturalist Sharon Mammoser spoke recently to more than 70 guests at the Tryon Depot Room as the initial installment of the Gardening for Life Project’s Habitatscaping Speaker Series.

Mammoser, owner of Nature for my Soul, spoke on increasing biodiversity one yard at a time in her talk, “More Habitat, Less Lawn: Getting Started with Rewilding Your Yard.”

These free community events are made possible thanks to community partners, including Congregational Church UCC Tryon, New View Realty, Clausen Walters Real Estate, Conserving Carolina, and many more.

The Gardening for Life Project is dedicated to promoting sustainable gardening practices using native plants. By creating gardens that support local ecosystems, the project helps foster habitats for wildlife, including pollinators and birds.
