Community Sharing Event aims to raise donations for local charities

TRYON—On Saturday, September 28, the annual Feed the Foothills Music Festival and Community Sharing Event will be held at FENCE from 3 to 7 p.m.

Presented by the Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce, the event will feature live music, numerous vendors, and much more.

“The Chamber first hosted the music festival in 2018, following many years of the well-attended Foothills BBQ Festival,” said Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce Marketing Manager Olivia Whiteside. “Chamber members wanted to give back to the community, and since the festival takes place in September, which is Hunger Awareness Month, we added the element of ‘Feed the Foothills’ in 2021 to raise donations for local charities and stomp out local hunger.”

The Feed the Foothills Music Festival will feature musical performances from Remington Cartee Band, Blackjack, and TKO. There will also be a kids’ zone, and vendor spaces are available for local businesses or organizations to sell items or share information. A variety of food, drinks, beer, and wine will be available for purchase.

Many local businesses have pledged sponsorship and donated raffle prizes, which are still being accepted. Raffle tickets are available on the Chamber website, Gunner’s Haven, Landrum Antique Mall, Align Chiropractic, and McGuinn’s Store.

To donate non-perishable canned food items ahead of the event, community members can visit Haven Salon and Boutique in downtown Tryon, and attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods to the event to donate.

“With a community that thrives on giving back, we anticipate a successful event,” Whiteside said.

Advanced tickets are available for $6 each at the Chamber office or its website. Tickets will be available at the door for $10, and children 12 and under can attend for free.

Foothills Equestrian Nature Center is located at 3381 Hunting Country Rd. in Tryon. For more information, visit carolinafoothillschamber.com.
