Motorcycle catches fire, spreads to SUV in Hyannis
HYANNIS – A motorcycle caught fire in Hyannis about 8:15 PM Saturday. The fire on Main Street at High School Road Extension spread to an SUV before being knocked down by Hyannis firefighters. Kearney blanks North Platte in season opener 20-0
Kearney High Football started off the 2024 season with a 20-0 win over the North Platte Bulldogs on Friday night. The Bearcat defense started off by forcing North Platte to a three and out, Kearney wouldn’t waste any time scoring, with Griffin Novacek showing the long ball off early, with a 44 yard touchdown pass to Cayden John.

Eagles Fall In Season Opener
The Chadron State Eagles fell to Nebraska-Kearney in their 2024 season opener, losing 18-6. The Lopers scored two touchdowns in the first half, with an opening drive touchdown and a 50-yard touchdown pass. Chadron State managed to kick two field goals but struggled offensively, particularly in the second half, where they were unable to score. The result marks a loss in the inaugural clash for the Good Life Trophy, a new annual rivalry.

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The high school volleyball season began on Thursday across the state of Nebraska. The following is included in our coverage. “At the end of the day, it’s the first game out and they’re a quality opponent, they’re well-coached, they have a lot of really good players and so we know a lot about them, so we knew what they were willing to bring,” Adams Central volleyball coach Libby Lollman said. “I liked after that first set how our girls responded. We’re young and we have a lot of new pieces, so I know there are going to be some ups and downs, but I was excited when we settled in, how they finished the game”
