With the successful adoption of the elementary school reading and writing curriculum in March, the West Linn-Wilsonville School District can shift its focus to middle and high school students.

The middle and high school adoption teams will host a sixth through twelfth grade literacy adoption input session from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 at the school district headquarters at 22210 SW Stafford Road 97062.

The input session is an important part of the English language arts curriculum adoption process but comes after the adoption teams, made up of more than 30 teachers and learning specialists, narrowed the curriculum options down to two options for middle school and three for high school.

To narrow their options to two or three, the middle and high school adoption teams first reviewed research, standards and student assessment data. Then they identified and evaluated materials approved by the Oregon Department of Education before interviewing the specific curriculum publishers they chose to focus on.

For parents and community members interested in contributing to the input session but unable to attend in person, the presentation can be viewed online at https://www.wlwv.k12.or.us/Page/16760.

The survey can be viewed at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfZ175j5n7rEH7syrrDR24mw8oaLeRECff2G6kh74O0UDN6zQ/viewform.
