The season’s sunflowers are unfurling their petals and stretching skyward just in time for Oregon’s largest yellow-flower festival.

Returning on weekends from Friday, Aug. 2, to Sunday, Aug. 18, the Lee Farms Sunflower Festival invites visitors to cut their own blooms, enjoy a scenic hayride and wander through a towering sunflower maze.

Since 2019, the seven-generation family farm in Tualatin has welcomed guests to bask in the beauty of its sprawling sunflower fields — offering a picturesque setting for summer memories. Spanning over 120 acres, the farm boasts more than 30 varieties of vibrant flowers to explore.

Beneath the golden glow of the sun, attendees can take a ride around the rustic farm to the iconic sunflower maze, which spans three acres and features sunflowers reaching up to 12 feet tall.

Admission includes one complimentary bloom for picking, alongside local music performances and a range of family friendly activities. When they’re not frolicking through the bucolic fields, children can slide down the “big fun slide” for a thrilling ride and bounce on the “big jump pad.”

A selection of food and beverages will be available for purchase, and the farm’s market and animal exhibits will also be open.

General admission tickets are $25 for adults (ages 11 and older) and $15 for children (ages 3 to 10) at the door. Children under 2 enter free.

As the sunflowers blossom, butterflies will also be breaking out of their cocoons to be released throughout the farm. Started in 2022 as a way to help pollinate the sunny-yellow flowers , the tradition sees attendees releasing the fluttering insects anywhere on the farm. The butterfly release is a $10 add-on to general admission and must be prepurchased online.

For a more immersive experience, the festival offers special events such as a dinner in the field on Aug. 9, featuring a gourmet meal set against the sunflower backdrop. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, visitors can enjoy a picnic package for a cozy meal among the blooms.

To unwind with a serene morning amidst the flowers, 45-minute sunrise yoga sessions will take place on Aug. 11 and Aug. 17.

VIP packages are available for those looking to enjoy the festival across multiple days and pick additional flowers.

Visit oregonsunflowerfestival.com to purchase tickets and learn more about packages. Lee Farms is located at 21975 S.W. 65th Ave. in Tualatin.
