PHOENIX — A Chandler mother was arrested on Monday for putting her three children in a dangerous living situation, authorities said. The Chandler Police Department visited her home near Chandler Boulevard and Alma School Road around 11:15 a.m. to conduct a welfare check for a 2-year-old boy, court documents said.

Knob and Clay Fires outside Sedona/Update
Coconino National Forest officials say the forward progression of the Knob Fire, 6.5-miles north of Sedona, was stopped Wednesday. The fire burned 8.5-acres. Crews are working to make sure the fire lines are secured. The Clay Fire, 6-miles east of Sedona, continues to grow slowly, with 25-acres burned. Officials say challenging terrain makes it hard to get firefighters on location, but helicopter bucket drops have been successful. Smoke will remain visible as suppression efforts continue. Both fires were started by lightning on Monday.
