The Arizona Wildcats were picked to finish 5th in the Big 12 Preseason Media Poll, as voted on by media representatives. The Wildcats were selected to finish 5th (762 points), receiving three first-place votes, in the 2024 Big 12 Media Preseason Poll. Utah was the leading vote recipient, reeling in 20 first-place votes and 906 total points. Kansas State (2nd; 889, 19), Oklahoma State (3rd; 829, 14), Kansas (4th; 772, 5), and Arizona complete the top five.

Satellite developed at U of A set to take flight Monday night
PHOENIX — A rocket launch Monday night at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California will deploy eight satellites including one developed at the University of Arizona. According to Firefly Aerospace, the company behind the launch, this is part of a contract with NASA. The Alpha FLTA005 will carry and deploy eight CubeSats.
