VCU Women’s Track & Field: Academic Honors & Athletic Achievements Galore
RICHMOND, Va. – The VCU Women’s Track & Field program was named an All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) last week, while five Rams earned additional honors. The USTFCCCA bestows the honor on teams that post a 3.0 grade-point-average (on a 4.0 scale) or better. The 2023-24 Girls Academy season concluded on Sunday with the U14-U17 age groups crowning new National Champions at the GA National Finals in Richmond, Virginia. Rob Washburn RICHMOND, Va. (July 16, 2024) – The CAA has announced the recipients of the Team Academic Excellence Awards for the 2023-24 academic year. The Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes the institution with the highest collective grade point average in all 22 sports sponsored by the CAA. Search continues for person who jumped into the Appomattox while eluding Hopewell Police
HOPEWELL – The search is on for a fugitive who jumped into the Appomattox River early Tuesday morning after being approached by Hopewell Police. A water-rescue team from Chesterfield County was back out on the river after daylight near the Hopewell City Marina, Hopewell Police Lt. Jacquita Allen said in a statement. That’s where the unidentified individual ran and jumped into the water shortly after 2 a.m.
