    UPDATE: Man shot to death on Tucson's west side identified

    UPDATE (12:31 p.m., July 3):

    The man who died after being shot on Tucson's west side has been identified by Tucson Police as 42-year-old Efrain Luna, Jr.

    Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1700 block of West Ajo Way, east of South Mission Road, at just after 7 p.m., according to a news release from TPD.

    Upon arrival, they were directed to a wash north of Ajo Way, east of the shopping center, where they found Luna, and began rendering aid.

    Medics from Tucson Fire continued with life-saving efforts after they arrived, but Luna died from his injuries.

    The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call 88-CRIME.

    A man is dead after a shooting on the Westside.

    Just after 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, Tucson police responded to a report of a shooting near W. Ajo Way and S. Mission Road.

    Upon arrival, they found a male victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.
