    Free Recycling Event will be Saturday, May 18 at Tukwila Community Center

    A FREE Residential Recycling Collection Event will be held at The Tukwila Community Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

    No vehicles may enter after 3 p.m.

    Please enter the site from the north. The 42nd Ave. S. bridge is one way going west.

    All items can be recycled for free.

    No flat beds or dump trucks allowed. We reserve the right to refuse oversized, commercial, contaminated, excessive, or unacceptable loads.

    Accepted items:

    • Electronic and computer equipment: remove personal information
    • DVD players, VCRs, stereo equipment, printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, and
    • cellular phones
    • Computers and computer monitors, mouse, keyboards, tablet computers, and e-readers
    • Televisions: All sizes. TV sets encased in plastic, wood console, sets encased in wood, and
    • big screen TVs accepted. Limit 7 per vehicle.
    • Matresses and box springs: Matresses and box springs, any size. Vendor reserves the right to
    • refuse any item it cannot recycle. No bed frames. No wet or soiled items. Limit 4 units per
    • vehicle. No commercial loads.
    • Cardboard: Please flaten.
    • Propane and helium tanks: Residential tanks only. Note – tanks do not need to be empty to
    • recycle. Limit 2 5-gallon tanks per vehicle.
    • Lead acid bateries: Car, truck, marine, motorcycle, and sealed lead acid bateries accepted.
    • Alkaline bateries: AAAA, AAA, AA, A, B, C, and D cell alkaline bateries. No rechargeable, cell
    • phone, lithium, or nickel-cadmium bateries accepted. Lithium-ion bateries, like tool and vape
    • bateries, will not be accepted.
    • Porcelain toilets and sinks: Toilet seats, hardware, and base wax rings must be removed. Limit 2
    • toilets/sinks total per vehicle.
    • Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners. Limit 2 units per vehicle. No commercial loads.
    • Bulky wood: Includes tree branches (minimum 6 inches in diameter), logs, clean wood,
    • plywood, pallets, and other untreated and unpainted wood. No leaves, grass, small branches,
    • sod, brush, painted, or stained wood. No peg board, particle or press board. Please lay a tarp
    • under material for ease of removal.
    • Broken furniture: No couches or upholstered furniture. Examples of furniture accepted are side
    • and regular tables, chairs, shelves, bookcases, and desks.
    • Tires (no rims): Bias ply, steel belted, light truck, and studded tirres accepted. Limit 10 passenger tires per household (18 inches and below). No oversized tires or truck tires accepted. NO RETURN TRIPS.
    • Appliances and scrap metal: Auto parts, appliances, microwaves, washers & dryers,
    • dishwashers, stoves, water heaters, engines, and gas lawnmowers (drained of oil and gasoline),
    • barbecues, iron, steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and other ferrous and nonferrous metals.
    • Metals that are insulated, rubber or oil-coated or previously or currently contains oil, gas,
    • chemicals, paint, or hazardous materials will not be accepted. Light fixture ballasts and sealed
    • drums will not be accepted.

    Not accepted items:

    • No Styrofoam™
    • No clothing or textiles
    • No shredded paper
    • No construction or demolition debris
    • No garbage
    • No plastic toys
    • No hoses
    • No window glass
    • No paint of any kind
    • No garden or household chemicals
    • No motor oil, filters, or antifreeze
