The City of Tukwila welcomes the community to come together for its Fourth Annual Juneteenth Commemoration on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

This free, outdoor event will be held at the Sullivan Center at Tukwila Village, 14350 Tukwila International Boulevard.

In 2020, Tukwila’s City Council adopted Resolution 1992, declaring that Juneteenth will be recognized in our community every year. The event is a celebration of emancipation as well as an opportunity to honor African Americans through continued learning and understanding of the impacts of slavery and resiliency.

FREE food for the first 120 attendees from Swagg-N-Wagon Wings & Things Food Truck.

Music will be provided by Sean Lewis.

    Schedule of the Day’s Event:

    • 11 a.m.: Welcome – Tukwila Councilmember De’Sean Quinn
    • 11:15 a.m.: Presentation of the Black National Anthem, Jayden Walker
    • 11:30 a.m.: Storyteller Sharon Nyree Williams to present “Juneteenth: Freedom is…”
    • 11:40 a.m.: Performance by DaNell Daymon & Greater Works Choir
    • 12:10 p.m.: Keynote Speaker – Rev. Terrence Proctor from Tukwila’s Church by the Side of the Road
    • 12:30 p.m.: Performance – The THROWBACKS Dance Team
