PERKINSTON (GG) — No. 11 Mississippi Gulf Coast has a rugged stretch of games to start the season, and the Bulldogs snatched a top-20 victory when Alexander Mink (Fr. LongBeach/Long Beach HS) burst forward to score the winner with 90 seconds to play. He gave Gulf Coast a 2-1 win over No. 16 Jones in the season opener at Bary Thrash Field. It was a perfectly executed give-and-go with Victor Moerck that sprung the Long Beach freshman into the box.

Mississippi State’s Vet Aspirations Initiative Receives National STEM Recognition
Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is celebrating national recognition for its Vet Aspirations initiative, which has been honored as a 2024 Inspiring Program in STEM by Insight Into Diversity magazine. This prestigious award highlights university programs that actively encourage and support students from diverse backgrounds to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). MSU’s Vet Aspirations project will be featured in the September issue of the magazine, the nation’s largest and oldest publication focused on inclusion in higher education.
