County rejects ordinance on short term rentals
Tulare County Board of Supervisors vote against regulations on short term rental despite various concerns from residents of Three Rivers community. The proposed ordinance would have added a number of different regulations to STRs – more commonly known through services such as Airbnbs – including trash storage/disposal, occupancy limits, pet regulations, noise regulations, parking requirements and requiring signage with the host’s contact information in the front of every property. Tulare County defines STRs as any rental of a private residence for less than 30 days. The ordinance would have been the county’s first ordinance specifically for STRs.

Traffic accident turns violent in Woodlake
Tulare County Sheriff’s Office deputies come under fire while investigating crash. While they were investigating the accident, someone began shooting at the law enforcement officers on scene, including the TCSO deputies.
