Arvest Bank raises $32.5K for Tulsa food pantries

TULSA, Okla. — Arvest Bank announced the company raised $32,500 for three Tulsa food pantries as part of the 14th annual Million Meals campaign.

Arvest said the money provides 162,800 meals to benefit the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, Iron Gate and Harvest House.

The Million Meals campaign raises money to feed communities across Oklahoma and neighboring states while raising awareness about food insecurity, Arvest says.

Every dollar provides up to five meals for hungry families.

The donations collected during the campaign were given directly to food partners to help stock pantries during the busy summer months. Arvest said six other organizations in the region received $8,000 donations:

    • God's Helping Hand in Eufaula
    • The Cart Guy Inc. in McAlester
    • Muskogee Community Food Pantry
    • Northstar in Pryor
    • Wagoner Area Neighbors
    • CARE Food Pantry in Tahlequah

The campaign takes place annually from April through May.

"We are very proud to once again see our community come together to support our neighbors in need," said Kirk Hays, president of Arvest Bank, Tulsa Region in a press release. "Our fight against hunger isn't just about filling empty stomachs but about nourishing communities and empowering individuals. We are very grateful to our customers, community members and associates for their continued support of such an important initiative."

Arvest said donations were collected at bank branches, online and on their app.

The Million Meals campaign has provided more than 25 million meal and collected more than $4.6 million in donations since 2011.
