    Academy award-winning actor coming to Green Country

    TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — An academy award-winning actor is coming to Green Country to act in a musical about one of his ancestors.

    The Cherokee Nation announced that Wes Studi will appear in its production of Nanyehi, the story of Nancy Ward.

    Studi is a direct descendant of the Cherokee leader and will play the role of her uncle.

    The musical is set for October 11th and 12th at the Hard Rock live in Catoosa.

    If you want to be part of the production, auditions in Tulsa will be on July 13 from 2-5 p.m. and July 14 from 2-5 p.m. at Theatre Tulsa, located at 5521 S. Peoria Ave.

    Auditions in Muskogee will be July 12, from 5-8 p.m., at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, located at 401 S. 3rd St.
