Annie Young, head women's golf coach at the University of Tulsa, has resigned her position to pursue other opportunities, it was announced recently.
Over her six seasons, Young took the Golden Hurricane to back-to-back NCAA Division I Championship appearances last year and this. Twice named coach of the year in the American Athletic Conference, Young's squad won the 2021 championship in The American.
In 2023, Young was named National Coach of the Year. The athletic program's story about her departure noted that Young served "on the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WBCA) Board of Directors for 2023-24 as the Division I Director."
Rick Dickson, the retiring U-Tulsa vice president and athletics director, commented, "We appreciate Annie's commitment to the University of Tulsa and our women's golf program over the past six seasons.
"We thank her for her tremendous work in leading the program and our young women and wish her and her family the best in their future endeavors."

Tulsa’s Grace Kilcrease a top national golfer, Lovisa Gunnar a WGCA All-American Scholar
In May, in NCAA Division I stroke play, sophomore golfer Grace Kilcrease was the top individual finisher among the 15 teams that did not advance to the final 18 holes (which included only full teams)>
Her finish in the top 35 "was the best NCAA finish for a Tulsa golfer since four-time All-American Stacy Prammanasudh completed the 2002 NCAA Championship in 13th place."

In the competition held in Carlsbad, California, Kilcrease's final round of 77 put her in 34th place among all women golfers in the top NCAA division. He had rounds of 76-71-71-77 for a 295 total.
The individual competition was tighly bunched, with 34 players trailing Texas A&M's Adela Cernousek, had a 276 total scoare.
Kilcrease and two teammates (Lovissa Gunnar and Allyn Stephens) were named to The American's All-Conference team in May -- when Coach Young was deemed Conference Coach of the Year.

Gunnar, a returning senior who is a three-year letter-winner, has secured 10 Top-10 finishes and 18 top-25 performances while playing in 32 career events.
She has a 73.9 career stroke average in 92 rounds of collegiate golf." Post-season this year, she was named an Academic All-District player for the second time, and is a three-time WGCA All-America Scholar.

Stephens is another valuable returning player for U-Tulsa.
The only woman on the team who played in all 13 of the Golden Hurricane tournaments, was designated Freshman of the Year in The American
She finished in the Top 10 three times, with a 73.5 stroke average.
In her second place finish at the Sam Golden Invitational last fall, she shot a 13-under par 203 (67-68-68).
