Tulsa Creative Engine kicks off Downtown Tulsa Parking Garage Concert Series

DOWNTOWN TULSA, Okla. — Some Tulsans got to enjoy an unusual musical performance on Thursday night in a parking garage.

It was the first in Tulsa Creative Engine's Parking Garage Concert Series held in the parking garage at 1st Street and Boulder Avenue in downtown Tulsa.

Dozens of people showed up to listen to DJ's spin and to watch a fashion show from the Oklahoma Fashion Alliance.

The concert's organizers told FOX23 how they came up with the idea.

“The idea was really born when Morgan and I were talking about ways to reinvent spaces in downtown Tulsa and we thought that this would be a unique way to showcase artists,” said Bianca Caampued, executive director at Tulsa Creative Engine.

The next parking garage concert will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on July 25 at the same garage at 1st and Boulder.

The movie will also be broadcasted on PBS on Veteran's Day, November 11, as a part of their Independent Lens program.
