Tulsa's Circle Cinema Film Fest kicks off with special guest Oscar-nominated actress Lily Gladstone

TULSA, Okla. — Oscar-nominated actress Lily Gladstone held a Q&A session at Tulsa's Circle Cinema on Friday after a screening of the documentary "Bring them Home."

Gladstone is the documentary's narrator and executive producer.

The screening is part of the first day of the sold out Circle Cinema Film Fest.

FOX23 went to Circle Cinema on Friday and spoke with attendees about what a big moment this is for film in Tulsa.

Ryan Thomas, a programmer with Circle Cinema, said it's all about supporting the film makers and the arts happening here in Tulsa.

"All things film in Oklahoma, films made in by and with Oklahomans celebrating the world of film in our state and all there is to offer there," he said.

The cinema staple turns 96 on Monday.

"We're excited to always make that part of our festival," Thomas said. "Circle Cinema, we have always been tied to cinema in Tulsa all through the years, especially since we reopened as a nonprofit cinema."

Moviegoers David Pickl and Joe Walters said festivals like these are huge for the city and its growth.

"We love to come to movie events, premieres, and see celebrities you would normally have to go to maybe Los Angeles to see, and how about seeing them here in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I mean how exciting," Pickl said.

The two are autograph collectors and found themselves at Circle Cinema on Friday night for the nostalgia it brings and the chance to hopefully add another signature to their collections.

"Just the fact that Circle Cinema was doing a big event and that an Oscar nominated actress Lily Gladstone was going to be here," Walters said.

"She is the executive producer and narrator of a great film called "Bring Them Home" and they will be here for that with a Q&A after," Thomas said.

Friday's event was all sold out, but Thomas said they have plenty of events happening this weekend with tickets left.

The new "Wall of Fame" was also unveiled at Circle Cinema on Friday night. It features Oklahomans who have impacted America's film industry.

The Circle Cinema Film Fest continues through next Monday.
