42-year-old Tulsa man arrested for allegedly soliciting a minor

MAYES COUNTY, Okla. — A Tulsa man was arrested by Mayes County deputies for allegedly soliciting a minor for sexual purposes.

According to the Mayes County Sheriff's Office (MCSO), George Kevin Mathu, 42, was caught trying to meet with a minor Friday night.

MCSO said Mathu was under investigation for texting a minor child for sexual gratification and agreed to meet the child but was stopped by the Child Exploitation Unit.

The Pryor Creek Police Department and the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service assisted in the investigation, according to MCSO.

Mathu was booked into the Mayes County Detention Center Friday night on multiple charges including soliciting a child, lewd proposals to a child and violating the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.
