Save the date for Sunday, Sept. 8 when the Edmonds Classic Car and Motorcycle Show rolls into downtown Edmonds. The event, hosted by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, attracts over 250 classic vehicles entries, while offering attendees a chance to dine and shop in downtown Edmonds. Yelm school board adopts 2024-25 budget with $1.3 million deficit
Yelm Community Schools (YCS) will open the 2024-25 school year with a deficit of $1.3 million in its general fund as the Board of Directors unanimously approved the annual budget Thursday, Aug. 22.
PARR acquires Rochester True Value Hardware & Lumber
ROCHESTER, Wash. — PARR, an American building-material supplier, has acquired Rochester True Value Hardware & Lumber in Rochester, WA, which will be its 25th lumber yard. PARR Lumber Rochester will service a broad area that includes Olympia and Centralia. PARR will retain eight mostly long-tenured team members as part of the acquisition.

Rebates on the way for Farmers who Paid Fuel Surcharges Under WA Climate law
Farmers who believe they paid unfair fuel surcharges under the state’s cap-and-trade program can soon apply for a rebate from the state. Next week, Washington’s Department of Licensing will launch an online application for agricultural fuel users who may have been overcharged. People can apply starting Monday. Fuel used in the farm industry is supposed to be exempt from the climate program.
