    Tunica man sentenced to 20 years in prison for manslaughter

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Tunica man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter for the shooting death of an 18-year-old.

    Quinterrance Vardaman, 26, is set to serve 20 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections for the shooting death of Trevon Bell, an 18-year-old Tunica resident.

    The shooting occurred at Kirby Estates Apartments in Robinsonville, Mississippi.

    As of July 27, 2023, Vardaman has been detained and charged with first-degree murder for the shooting death of Jimmy Dotson , a 35-year-old from Tunica.

    That shooting occurred on July 3, 2023.

    As of now, Vardaman has not been indicted on this charge, but other arrests have been made in relation to Dotson’s death and indictments will be sought.
