TUD Celebrates Completion of New Sonora Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility
Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) is thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Sonora Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility (SRWWTF). The SRWWTF project represents a significant achievement for TUD and the community it serves. The project, which began in October 2021, has been a substantial undertaking for the district, with the construction of a new wastewater treatment facility capable of treating an average of 2 million gallons of wastewater per day. This $42 million facility replaces an outdated plant built in the 1970s and marks a major milestone in TUD’s commitment to providing efficient and sustainable wastewater management solutions for the community.
