Ville Platte Rotary: Update given on Cabot project
Rotarian Larry Lachney welcomed Marty Robinson with Cabot Corporation as the guest speaker for the July 16, meeting of the Ville Platte Rotary Club. Robinson discussed the Air Pollution Control Project - Energy Control Project currently underway at Cabot in order to comply with the Environmental Protection Agency consent decree. As manager of the project, Robinson said the purpose of the project is to reduce emission of greenhouse gases into the environment.

A Lafayette police officer who fatally shot a rapper outside La Bamba nightclub on Johnston Street in 2023 was cleared of wrongdoing and is back on the job.
