One person was injured in a drive-by shooting in a Turlock neighborhood Monday afternoon, according to the Turlock Police Department.

TPD received a call at about 12:40 p.m. that shots rang out on the 400 block of Locust Street near the intersection of Castor Street.

A man with a gunshot wound to the leg was taken to a local hospital, according to Dominique Sanchez, spokeswoman for the Police Department. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Police arrived on scene and collected shell casings that littered the street. Officers believed somewhere between four and six rounds were fired.

A suspect in the shooting was described as a male adult wearing a black shirt and black jeans, with his hair pulled back into a ponytail. The car the man was driving was described as a black or dark-colored Jeep Cherokee of unknown year.

There were no arrests in connection with the shooting as of Monday afternoon.

Those with information regarding the shooting were urged to call Officer Donna Anthieny at 209-668-5550, ext. 6631.
