Decision Day: Will Alabama land first five-star of '25 class?

    By BOL Staff,

The Alabama Crimson Tide are on a torrid pace on the recruiting trail in the month of June. Kalen DeBoer and his staff have landed commitments from nine prospects over the past four weeks, with five of them being Top 100 players. Their most recent addition came from ‘Wolf’ target Dawson Merritt on Wednesday.

On Friday, another priority target in the 2025 class will announce his college decision: Dijon Lee. Lee is down to a handful of programs — all of whom he took official visits to in June besides USC. Lee hails from Mission Viejo High School in California.

BamaOnLine has all the details you need to know ahead of Lee’s upcoming commitment.

    Date: June 28

    Time: 1:30 p.m. Central

Finalists: Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, and Washington

Lee’s social media: X (Formerly known as Twitter) and Instagram

The relationship between DeBoer and Lee goes back over a year ago when Washington became one of his first offers in February 2023. Lee showed immediate interest in the Huskies, making his way up to Seattle twice last year, including for a game day. General Manager Courtney Morgan built a strong bond with him throughout the Washington pursuit.

Those connections carried over to when DeBoer and Morgan arrived at Alabama.

Lee was offered four days after DeBoer was hired by the program, and put the Tide in his top three less than two weeks later. The 6-foot-3.25, 195-pounder would go on to make the cross-country trip to Tuscaloosa twice in the spring (March 23 and April 19). He returned last weekend for his official visit with Bama.

“First of all, I think the coaching staff is phenomenal,” Lee’s grandfather, Terrence King, told BOL after the official visit. “The relationship with the coaching staff, I think, is outstanding. Alabama is Alabama as far as the program, the school, and the education. It’s top-tier. I mean, what more could you ask for in one place that has everything wrapped up in one?

“Alabama is top-tier, man,” King added. “First class all the way. From what I can see, they’re not missing a beat or step.”

With Lee’s commitment upcoming, BamaOnLine’s recruiting staff has submitted our official predictions for where we believe he will land. Lee is expected to shut down his recruitment after committing and focus on his upcoming season, per his grandfather.

If Alabama was to land Lee, then he would be the first five-star to join their 2025 class under Kalen DeBoer. The On3 Industry Rankings tab Lee as the No. 30 overall prospect in the nation. He’s also listed as the No. 5 cornerback and the top-ranked player in California in his class.

Bama currently has the No. 4 recruiting class in the country, with Georgia and LSU both slightly ahead of them. A commitment from Lee would mark their fifth addition from California in this cycle, joining Abduall Sanders, Alex Asparuhov, Chuck McDonald, and Jackson Lloyd.
