Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe dropped a quote this week that no one in college football is going to believe.

Milroe, who is entering his fourth season at Alabama, recently spoke with 247Sports about his decision to stay in Tuscaloosa after Nick Saban's retirement and the expectations for the program under new head coach Kalen DeBoer.

The Texas native insisted that Alabama has no expectations for itself this upcoming season while saying that he has no idea who the Crimson Tide even play in their first game of the season.

"I don't think there are expectations when it comes to our team," said Milroe. "I think we look internally rather than external. I think we have the right mindset. Coach DeBoer talks about relentless pursuit lead to continuous improvement. We have that at the top with leadership. Now it goes down to the rest of the team and goes down to the foundation of the team. That's going to allow us to be successful this year."

When 247Sports asked Milroe to confirm that there are no expectations for Alabama in 2024, the star quarterback doubled down while dropping the quote that no one will believe.

"Nah. We look internally. I don't even know who we play Game 1," said Milroe.

I'm sorry, there's just no way that's the case.

With content flying around constantly, it's impossible to avoid seeing SEC schedules. There's just no way Milroe doesn't actually know that Alabama plays Western Kentucky in Week One. It's impossible.
