Alabama lands commitment from Top 10 tight end in 2025 class

The Alabama Crimson Tide have officially carried over their recruiting momentum from the month of June into July, as the program landed a big commitment Monday from highly-touted tight end Kaleb Edwards.

A four-star prospect, Edwards ranks as the nation’s No. 8 tight end according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 159 overall player nationally. Edwards also ranks as the No. 14 overall prospect in the state of California, where he attends Oak Ridge High School.

There, Edwards also enjoyed a strong 2023 junior season in which he had 44 receptions for 828 yards and seven touchdowns, bringing his total across the past two seasons to nearly 1,500 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. The four-star also plays both sides of the ball, amassing 70+ tackles and eight sacks over that span.

Now commitment No. 21 of the 2025 cycle for Alabama, the Crimson Tide’s class remains at No. 2 nationally, as well as tops in the SEC. Edwards is also the first tight end commitment of the cycle for Alabama.
