Tuscaloosa police have charged two adults and two juveniles in connection with a shooting Wednesday that injured one man and left several homes struck by bullets.

At around 9 a.m., officers with the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded to the Kaulton Road area on a report of a shooting, said Capt. Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit. Officers found one person with a non-life- threatening gunshot wound. Officers also located a vehicle occupied by several people who they considered suspects in the shooting.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit assumed command of the investigation.

After the investigation, investigators determined that two men were the initial aggressors. These two men approached a residence and fired at a person standing outside, investigators believe.

Kennedy said the motive for the shooting is still under investigation, but he said that a perceived arguments on social media may have been a factor.

The person who was initially shot at then returned fire, he said. During the exchange, several houses were shot into that were not related to the ongoing dispute. One person was shot and received a non-life-threatening injury, Kennedy said.

"Responding officers and dispatchers did an excellent job of receiving and communicating information to other responding units, which resulted in the suspects being observed trying to flee the area in a vehicle. Both suspects were stopped and held for investigators," said Kennedy in a news release.

At the end of the investigation, police charged two adults and two juveniles in connection with the shooting.

One juvenile was charged as an adult with attempted murder and several counts of discharging into occupied dwellings and vehicle. He was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

A second juvenile was charged with certain persons prohibited to possess a pistol as a juvenile and taken to the Tuscaloosa County Juvenile Detention Center.

Police will not release any information about the two juveniles due to their ages.

Johnny B. Hill Jr., 19, was charged with attempted murder and several counts of discharging into occupied dwellings and vehicle. He was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

Ja’Michael William Bradley, 20, was charged with bond revocation on a prior first-degree assault charge and was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

Kennedy said VCU is working closely with its federal partners to investigate any possible federal gun charges that may be applicable in this case.
