Former Alabama football coach Nick Saban was inducted into the Alabama Business Hall of Fame on Thursday, along with six other prominent figures in the state.

Saban, now an ESPN analyst and member of "College GameDay," retired from coaching the Crimson Tide after the 2023 season.

During his tenure, he was known for starting a myriad of business ventures. Among them was "Nick's Kids," a charity foundation that has raised over $14 million, according to the announcement. He also co-owns Dream Motor Corp., which operates seven Mercedes car dealerships in five states. The company also owns an Infiniti dealership in Birmingham and a Ferrari vender in Nashville.

Saban just finished his fourth day at 2024 SEC Football Media Days, where he attended the event as a non-coach for the first time. The 72 year old served a prominent role at the desk for "SEC Now."

Saban, who still resides in Tuscaloosa, won six national championships in 17 seasons with the Crimson Tide, going 19-12 in bowl games and 9-5 in College Football Playoff appearances. Alabama fell to eventual national championship Michigan in overtime in the CFP semifinal Rose Bowl last season.

The five-time SEC Coach of the Year was a defensive back at Kent State from 1970-72 before starting his coaching career as a graduate assistant in 1973. He later earned his first head coaching job at Toledo in 1990, where he spent one season before taking over at Michigan State from 1995-99.

Saban then coached LSU from 2000-04 and the NFL's Miami Dolphins from 2005-06 before heading to Alabama in 2007.
