If Coach Saban didn't know that life in the media entails former players and coaches getting upset at his comments, he knows now.

Following an SEC championship prediction featuring Texas and Georgia, Saban had to know the Alabama Crimson Tide faithful wouldn't be too happy about that.

Well, star offensive lineman Tyler Booker was asked about the comments at SEC Media Days , and he had an answer that likely has Coach Saban tipping his cap.

    Booker Responds to Saban's Doubt

“Well something Coach Saban taught us whenever we speak to the media is to not concern ourselves with external factors and he [Coach Saban] doesn’t work in the facility anymore, he works in the stadium so he’s considered an external factor," Booker said when asked about Coach Saban's SEC Championship prediction.

To be fair, the last thing Coach Saban wants to be called as he starts out his media career is a "Homer." The ball coach has to be objective, candid, and unbiased in his analysis if he is going to generate the same level of respect as a broadcaster, that he did as a head coach.

But for Booker and the rest of the Crimson Tide, it's a nice source of external motivation even if it comes from an internal source. As Coach Saban would reiterate at SEC Media Days, he has a presence with the team, but he's had limited interaction since retiring as HC and will likely take on more of an ambassador role as the months and years go on.

Booker is unafraid to share his opinion, as one of the most dominant lineman not only in the SEC, but in all of college football. A future first-round pick, Booker expects the Tide to improve upon what they accomplished last season, even with the integration of an entirely new era in Alabama Crimson Tide football .

“I really don’t pay attention to what people on the outside are talking about,” said Booker. “I’m only worried about what we are talking about on the inside of the building to win. So y’all will be talking about Alabama later in the year...

"...Our mindset is still the same. We want to go out and dominate. We still want to make people quit and that’s never going to change. That’s a part of being at the University of Alabama."

So the more that things change in college football, the more they stay the same at The University of Alabama.
