Alabama HC says Kadyn Proctor is looking impressive in camp

Alabama Crimson Tide offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor.

Kadyn Proctor was expected to be a huge part of Alabama's offensive line in 2024, which made it all the more disappointing for those in Tuscaloosa when he transferred back to his home state of Iowa to pledge to the Iowa Hawkeyes in the wake of Nick Saban's retirement.

That was a decision that didn't last long, though, as Proctor was a Hawkeye for just a few months before he got the itch to go back to Alabama. New head coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff were extremely receptive to bringing back the former five-star recruit, and now, just weeks before the 2024 season, Proctor is impressing in his second fall camp at Alabama.

For DeBoer, it's been an impressive introduction to the 6-foot-7, 360-pound goliath who was an All-SEC freshman team selection in 2023.

“I don’t have a huge understanding of what he was a year ago. I watched it on film. But it feels like he’s in really good shape and lean. When you ask people who would have an understanding, it’d be nothing but positives about the progress he’s made," DeBoer recently told the media (h/t On3 ). “Strength and explosive numbers are up. Then also just the way his body looks. Leaner. He’s just so dense. He’s got so much mass he’s gonna be big no matter what. So love his demeanor out there. It’s good to have him back."

Not only is Proctor a big, imposing tackle, but he proved to be just as talented as he is ginormous. He notched 20 knockdown blocs in 743 snaps as a freshman, and he should only get better as he continues to learn the intricacies of being a big-time left tackle.

We'll be talking about Proctor as an NFL prospect sooner rather than later.
