Sheriff: Tuscarawas County man arrested for burglary, impaired driving
The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary incident that took place Monday evening. Justin Heston, 33, of the Newcomerstown area, was arrested for burglary and operating a vehicle while impaired after a 44-year-old Auburn Township woman reported an unknown male entered her residence and made it to the second floor.
Tuscarawas Co. man charged with 14th OVI
TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A Uhrichsville man was charged with his fourteenth OVI offense on June 24 after a hit and skip, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol. OSHP said 60-year-old John F. Owens was driving eastbound in a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer on State Route 39 in Dover Township when he struck a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado around 3:13 p.m.

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) Tuscarawas County leaders are helping send off a local sports icon. During Monday’s board meeting, the county commissioners presented a certificate of recognition to longtime Dover head basketball coach Bob Von Kaenel, who hung up his whistle last month after 33 winning seasons. Tuscarawas County man charged with 14th OVI offense after hit-skip crash; driver identified
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers have charged a local man with his 14th OVI offense following a hit-skip crash on State Route 39. John F. Owens, 60, of Uhrichsville, was involved in the incident on June 24 at 3:13 p.m. near Interstate 77 in Dover Township. Owens was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer eastbound on State Route 39 when he struck the rear of a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. He then fled the scene.

The Tuscarawas County YMCA will hold its 23rd annual Memorial Golf Outing on August 15th, at Oak Shadows Golf Club in New Philadelphia.
