Kids seek birds today at Exchange Club Forest
CARO — The Caro Area District Library and the Tuscola Conservation District have partnered to put on two upcoming summer programs for area kids. The first of these programs takes place today from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Exchange Club Forest. The event, titled “Birds!” includes walking the hiking path in the Exchange Club Forest, playing a bird migration game, and learning how to identify bird species. The Exchange Club Forest is at 1060 Gun Club Road near Caro.

Driver gets max sentence for striking deputy
CARO – Peter T. O’Brien received the maximum sentence for driving drunk and striking a Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office deputy, seriously injuring the officer. Tuscola County District Judge Jason E. Bitzer sentenced O’Brien, 55, of Caro to 40 months to five years in prison for striking Deputy Thomas R. Peterson with O’Brien’s vehicle.
Man severely injured when box truck hits vehicle
A 67-year-old man was severely injured Monday evening when his vehicle was hit by a box truck that failed to obey a stop light in Tuscola County. According to a press release from the Michigan State Police Caro Post, troopers were dispatched to a report of a two-vehicle crash to the intersection of M-24 and M-46 in Tuscola County.
