UPDATE: Four Missing Palmdale Brothers Found Safe, Parents Arrested on Unrelated Charges
After nearly three weeks of concerted efforts by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the public, four brothers who vanished from Palmdale have been found safe. According to KTLA, the siblings, ranging from 2 to 5 years old, were located Saturday afternoon. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the children had last been seen on July 1 around 2 p.m. in the 800 block of East Avenue P-12 in Palmdale and were believed to be heading to the Mojave area in Kern County at the time they disappeared.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A man was shot and killed Friday morning by deputy gunfire in Jurupa Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office announced. The shooting was reported around 7:30 a.m. in the area of 34th Street and Crestmore Road during a cleanup of the Santa Ana River bottom.

Sales tax on July 22 council agenda
This week’s City Council public session agenda includes a proposal to put a 1/2 cent sales tax on the November ballot. The sales tax is the last of items on the agenda. The council will also consider requiring a special event permit application 45 days prior to an event. Currently, the city code requires the application 30 days before the event.
