Candid conversations at city's Join Jameson event
A pair of community members stopped by The Depot at 315 South Egan Avenue on Aug. 22, for the recently rebranded Join Jameson event from the City of Madison. The event is an opportunity for residents to come and have candid conversations with Madison City Administrator Jameson Berreth, who described it as a fantastic opportunity for residents to ask questions and share their thoughts in low-stress discussions on the city and its community.
Codington County to hold child care forum next week
Child care is an ongoing issue in Watertown. From 4 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 28, community leaders will get together at the Lake Area Technical College Student Center's fourth-floor room to speak about Watertown's childcare issues. This gathering aims to find solutions and plan future actions to address the community’s child care needs. Those who are interested in understanding this important issue better and hearing the discussion from community leaders are invited to attend. Volunteers get to work at Graceland Cemetery

At Madison's Graceland Cemetery, volunteers gathered to clear the moss — or more accurately, lichen — from headstones throughout the site, revealing the names and histories trapped beneath.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Residents of Pierre or Aberdeen may be used to traveling a few hundred miles in a day. That includes their high school sports teams. The Aberdeen Central High School football team will travel at least 1,400 miles this fall. The volleyball team will travel at least 3,000 miles. The football and volleyball teams at T. F. Riggs High School in Pierre will travel at least 4,000 total miles.
Great Shots golf bays closing for turf upgrades
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Starting on Sunday, Great Shots in Sioux Falls will be closing its golf bays and tee lines in order to make upgrades to their driving range turf. Great Shots made the announcement on their Facebook page and noted that while the bays and tee lines will be closed, their indoor simulator will still be available by reservation, as will their event spaces, golf academy and bar.
