NEW YORK—Nielsen is reporting that nearly 51.3 million people watched CNN’s presentation of the first presidential debate of the 2024 election season on Thursday, June 27. The CNN Presidential Debate between President Biden and former President Trump aired live on CNN and was simulcast on an additional 16 television networks reported by Nielsen. By age, Nielsen reported that 51,265,000 people aged 2 and older watched the debate and 34,531,000 households. Globecast, Blacon Media To Collaborate On U.S. Election Coverage
Globecast and Blacon Media, a broadcast engineering, production and distribution firm, are partnering to provide live coverage of the 2024 U.S. election and related events.Both the Republican and Democrat National Conventions in Milwaukee and Chicago, respectively, will be available. Blacon Media ENG crews will be on-site producing contribution feeds for customers Globecast will distribute coverage internationally, the company said. Blacon Media will provide a produced program feed, a clean feed and packaged feeds. LOS ANGELES—A jury in the U.S. District Court in the Central District of California has ordered the NFL to pay nearly $4.8 billion in damages in an antitrust case alleging that consumers and businesses were forced to overpay for the NFL’s Sunday Ticket package of out-of-market games.
