Maggie Q’s Bosch: Legacy Spinoff Adds Castle, Magnum P.I., All Rise and Teen Wolf Vets

Detective Renee Ballard has put herself together a cold case-cracking team.

Prime Video’s allegedly-still-untitled, Maggie Q-led Bosch: Legacy spinoff has added four more series regualrs, including Castle alum Michael Mosley and Magnum P.I. vet Amy Hill.

Ordered to series last November, the new entry in the Bosch universe finds Detective Ballard “running the LAPD’s new cold case division — a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the largest case load in the city.

“Ballard approaches these frozen-in-time cases with empathy and determination,” the synopsis continues. “When she uncovers a larger conspiracy during her investigations, she’ll lean on the assistance of her retired ally, Harry Bosch, to navigate the dangers that threaten both her unit and her life.”

Previously cast were John Carroll Lynch ( Big Sky , American Horror Story ) as Thomas Laffont, Renee’s former partner who un-retires to help her run the Cold Case Department, and Courtney Taylor ( Abbott Elementary , Insecure ) as Samira Parker, a wary ex-cop who returns to the force at her former mentor Ballard’s behest.

New to the mix, our sister site Deadline reports, is Mosley as Ted, a reserve officer who has been assigned to cold cases to keep an eye on Ballard, and Hill as Tutu, Ballard’s spunky grandma.

The other new series regulars are Rebecca Field ( All Rise ) as Colleen, an enthusiastic and eccentric volunteer, and Victoria Moroles ( Teen Wolf ) as Martina, a savvy legal intern.

Maggie Q will make her debut as Ballard, a character from Michael Connelly’s Harry Bosch novels, in the Season 3 finale of Prime Video‘s Bosch: Legacy , which is still awaiting a premiere date but will be based on Connelly’s novels Desert Star (from 2022) and The Black Ice (1993).
