Eugene and Dan Levy just scored the best seats in the Peacock Theater.

The father-son duo has been tapped to host ABC’s broadcast of the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, TVLine has learned. The ceremony, which comes just eight months after the strikes-delayed 75th Emmys aired in January, will take place live on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 8/7c from the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

“For two Canadians who won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent, the idea of being asked to host this year in an actual theater was incentive enough,” the hosts said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to be able to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television and can’t wait to spend the evening with you all on Sept. 15.”

“We are thrilled to welcome two generations of comedy genius to the Emmys stage as hosts,” added Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego. “Eugene and Dan Levy are known for creating unforgettable laugh-out-loud moments on screen, and together, they are super-charged. I cannot wait for Emmy fans to see what they have in store for all of us.”

The Levys famously created and starred in the comedy series Schitt’s Creek , which cleaned up at the 2020 Primetime Emmys, taking home nine trophies. In addition to the show being named Outstanding Comedy Series, Eugene and Dan also won Outstanding Lead and Supporting Actor, respectively. Eugene had previously won two Emmys for his writing on the Canadian sketch comedy SCTV Network in 1982 and 1983. This year, the senior Levy’s Apple TV+ reality series The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy is up for two Creative Arts Emmys (for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special, and Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program).

Nominations for this year’s Emmys were announced on July 17 , and FX’s Shōgun came out on top with 25 total nominations, including nods for Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actress in a Drama and Lead Actor in a Drama. Hulu’s The Bear was next in line with 23 total nods, breaking a record for the most nominations in a single year in the comedy category, an honor previously held by NBC’s 30 Rock .

The 2024 Creative Arts Emmys, meanwhile, will be held across two nights the weekend before the Emmys proper, on Saturday, Sept. 7, and Sunday, Sept. 8.
