Nearly 10 years after voicing the titular villain in Avengers: Age of Ultron , James Spader is reprising the iconic role for Marvel’s upcoming WandaVision follow-up series on Disney+, according to The Hollywood Reporter .

Paul Bettany is set to return for the Vision-centric series, which is on track for a 2026 release. It will reportedly take place after the events of WandaVision , following White Vision as he “presumably explores his new purpose in life.” Terry Matalas ( Star Trek: Picard ) is developing the series.

WandaVision , which streamed back in 2021, ended with Hex Vision (the “husband” that Wanda had created using magic) engaging in a Ship of Theseus-themed philosophical discussion with White Vision (a synthezoid built from the OG’s “corpse”). Hex Vision ultimately restored White Vision’s original data, allowing White Vision to remember his relationship with Wanda and the Mind Stone’s destruction.

Marvel’s quieter-than-usual live-action TV slate resumes on Wednesday, Sept. 18 with the double-episode premiere of WandaVision ‘s first offshoot, Agatha All along (starring Kathryn Hahn in the title role). Beyond that, Daredevil: Born Again is on tap for a March 2025 premiere, while the Black Panther 2 offshoot Ironheart is penciled in for “2025.”

Spader already boasts an impressive small-screen resume, most recently spending 10 seasons (2013–2023) as The Blacklist ‘s Red Reddington. He previously starred on Boston Legal , and had memorable roles on shows like The Office and The Practice .
