Jonathan Jackson made his long-awaited return to General Hospital on Friday, nearly a decade since Lucky Spencer was last seen in Port Charles.

Viewers didn’t actually catch a glimpse of Jackson’s face until the end of the episode, however, as Lucky spent most of the hour with a burlap sack over his head. After establishing throughout the broadcast that someone was being held captive in a dirty cell, that person was ultimately revealed to be Lucky.

Moments before the big unmasking, Laura was telling Elizabeth how much she misses her son. “I wish to God I knew where he was so I could bring him home,” she said. And just like that, there he was! So as soon as we find out where he is — and perhaps send him a comb — we’ll be sure to get him home.

Jackson originated the role of Lucky in 1993, playing the son of Luke and Laura Spencer on and off through 2011, at which point he departed ABC’s daytime soap for the primetime country music drama Nashville . He later returned to GH for a brief stint in 2015.

During his two-decade run as Lucky, Jackson won five Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (1995, 1998, 1999, 2011 and 2012).

Elsewhere in Friday’s hour, Molly continued to mourn the loss of her baby; the Ashford family rallied around T.J. in his grief; Haven defended Lois against an at-home heckler; and Chase helped Dante work through his complicated feelings about Lulu, while Maxie visited her bedside.

OK, General Hospital fans, it’s time to start theorizing: Who’s holding Lucky captive? And does anyone else feel like Lulu’s about to wake up from that coma sooner rather than later? Drop a comment with all of your thoughts below.
