On Monday, Peacock and Sky released a dramatic new teaser for Lockerbie : A Search for Truth , the limited series inspired by the December 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over the titular Scottish town, which will premiere on Thursday, Jan. 2. In it, Firth is seen questioning government officials surrounding the secrecy of the bombing after his daughter was killed on board. (Watch video above.)

The series follows the aftermath of the Pan Am Flight 103 explosion, which took place just 38 minutes after takeoff and killed 259 passengers and crew, and 11 Lockerbie residents. “In the wake of the disaster and his daughter’s death, Dr. Jim Swire (Firth) is nominated spokesperson for the UK victims’ families, who have united to demand truth and justice,” according to the official description. “Traveling across continents and political divides, Jim embarks on a relentless journey that not only jeopardizes his stability, family and life, but completely overturns his trust in the justice system. As the truth shifts under Jim’s feet, his view of the world is left forever changed.”

Catherine McCormack ( Slow Horses ) co-stars as Jane, Jim’s wife. The cast also includes Jemma Carlton ( A Thousand Blows ), Harry Redding ( Red Rose ), Sam Troughton ( A Very Royal Scandal ), Ardalan Esmaili ( Greyzone ), Rosanna Adams ( Do You Remember ) and Selwa Jghalef ( Pensive Moments ).
