Bear sighting at the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - The University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) reported a black bear sighting on the Troth Yeddha’ campus Tuesday afternoon. The bear was reported to have been moving across Tanana Loop near North Tanana, and into the woods at around 8 a.m. The UAF Police Department confirmed the sighting and reportedly left the area once the bear went into the woods.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) -The Nanooks Hockey Team signed seven new student-athletes from some of the top junior leagues across North America. First up is Caelum Dick, a right shot 5-10 defenseman who played for the United State Hockey League’s (USHL) Dubuque Fighting Saints from Sherwood Park, Alberta. Dick played in 116 regular season games for the Fighting Saints and tallied six goals and 21 assists for 27 points and a playoff goal.
Juneau residents gather to protest officer shooting of homeless man
JUNEAU, Alaska (KTUU) - Juneau community members gathered Sunday afternoon to protest the shooting of Steven Kissack by law enforcement officers. Kissack was shot by police on July 15 after officials said he would not drop a knife he was holding. The Department of Public Safety (DPS) said Juneau police officers and an Alaska Wildlife Trooper shot Kissack with a bean bag gun when he did not comply. Kissack then appeared to charge officers, and they fired their weapons.
