MANITOWOC – Two Rivers' Riverside Park on 14th Street could be getting a makeover.

The City Council approved a master plan during its meeting July 1. The plan includes priorities like renovating the restrooms, improving the natural habitat of the park and expanding playground equipment.

The plan, which is part of the city's Parks and Open Space Plan, needs to be filed with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as a prerequisite for state grants and other funding opportunities.

Two Rivers Director of Parks & Recreation Mike Mathis said a recent survey indicated residents' preferences for the park included improving the restrooms, having a walkway along the water, keeping the skate park, and putting in a kayak and canoe launch.

The council unanimously approved adopting the plan.
