    Two Rivers things to do: Check out Community Band's ‘Sunday Afternoon in the Park’ this weekend

    TWO RIVERS - The next Two Rivers Community Band concert will be at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 4.

    This concert, titled “Sunday Afternoon in the Park,” will feature a variety of polkas, waltzes and marches. It will be in Central Park on Washington Street.

    Deanna Johnson will lead things off with the singing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” This will be followed by the “Adrian Polka,” “Divorced Polka,” “Tulak Polka” and “Favorite Polka.” Mike Johanek will perform a trumpet solo on the “Jupiter Polka Petite.”

    Waltz numbers are “First Love Waltz,” “Homecoming Waltz” and “Waltz Across Texas.”

    Marches for the day include “Alte Kameraden” and “King Cotton,” which will be conducted by Assistant Conductor Mike Johanek.

    The program concludes with a crowd favorite, “Liechtensteiner Polka.”

    If it rains, the event will be in the gym at the J.E. Hamilton Community House.
