TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WSAV) – The new comedy Fly Me to the Moon will soon be screened in the very city where it was filmed.

The new film is set during the 1960s Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union at the time of the Apollo 11 Mission and stars Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson as National Aeronautics and Space Association (NASA) higher-ups who stage a backup “fake” moon landing in the event of an unsuccessful mission.

Tybee Island and the City of Savannah were among the many locations used for shooting the film.

The movie will screen at the Tybee Post Theater on Wednesday, August 7 at 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 8 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
